I think I know the answer to that question above in the title
Actually, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is unpopular for the same reason that our American President Donald Trump is unpopular with so many people.
They use their emotions and their feelings to feel. But when they need to think, they depend on intelligent and accurate thinking.
People who are dishonest, manipulative, and who like to control other peoples' emotions -- don't like people who think.
What's more -- they can't stand people who think accurately and analytically. Both Presidents, the Russian and the American, do this and what's why people who prefer emotions and feelings regard these two with horrendous and arrogant contempt.
Do you want some evidence of how Vladimir Putin thinks?
I think I can help.

I guess that's why so many of my blog posts are also so unpopular
Like these two presidents, I tend to find myself unable to respect feelings and tend to respect people who think or make the effort to think rationally. I definitely have little patience for emotional reactions to things. Why?
Like so many people, when I was growing up and in early adulthood, I was like such emotional reactors. I was one of them.
All my emotional responses to challenges were ill-fated and useless. They were also stupid. I realized that I needed to learn to think accurately.
So now, as a middle aged man in my late fifties, I've found myself marching toward accurate thinking and away from emotionalism. If anything, I've become anti-emotionalism in my way of looking at stuff, at the world, at people.
