WORLD WAR II, TEXANS IN | The Handbook of Texas Online| Texas State Historical Association (TSHA)

WORLD WAR II, TEXANS IN | The Handbook of Texas Online| Texas State Historical Association (TSHA)

Look at the records of Texans and their deeds in the war against Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany throughout the period of the Second World War.

The descendants of Texans such these are being mocked by The French satire magazine Charlie Hebdo and have been labeled as Neo Nazis. This is the year 2017. Ninety-nine years ago, the First World War ended.

Ninety eight years ago, Anton Drexler invited Adolf Hitler to join his political party which Hitler later renamed as National Socialist German Workers Party.  Do not doubt that many Germans and non-Germans predicted then that there would later follow another war also involving Germany.

The French and Belgian soldiers who briefly occupied the Rhineland areas of Germany were cited as causes of German resentments that fueled the rise of the Nazis and of Hitler.

Do not doubt that events triggered by French political leaders contributed greatly to the rise of the Nazi state.

Thus, despite what this French periodical says about Texas and Nazis, it was an earlier generated of French government leaders who fueled the rise of Nazism in Europe and after that, the outbreak of the Second World War.
